Meet Dr. Kerry D'Costa

Periodontist

 

Dr. Kerry Mark D’Costa is a Board-certified dental specialist in Periodontics and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. D’Costa graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Honours Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. His dental education has included training at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University and at the Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam. Dr. D’Costa obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and Master of Science (MSc) degree in Periodontology from the University of Toronto. During his three-year residency, Dr. D’Costa gained extensive surgical experience in periodontal flap surgery, soft tissue and bone grafting, site development & ridge augmentation, and implant surgery. He is also formally trained in IV moderate conscious sedation. Dr. D’Costa’s research was centered on the systemic effects of periodontal disease, specifically focused on the association between periodontitis and cardiovascular disease, which has been published.

Dr. D’Costa’s dental experience includes periodontal work at several dental offices throughout the GTA, as well as past work placements at Native reserves in Northern Ontario and Eastern Ontario. He was previously a part-time clinical instructor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, playing golf, skating, skiing and spending time with family and friends.
